Results generally last 3-6 weeks depending on individual hair growth; regrowth is finer and patchier over time. Factors like hormones, medication, and hair cycle affect timing. Regular waxing can extend intervals and reduce density.
Some discomfort is normal, but brief. To prepare, exfoliate a day before, avoid retinoids or harsh acids, and arrive with hair about quarter-inch long. We use professional techniques and numbing options can be discussed for sensitive clients.
Keep area clean and avoid hot baths, saunas, heavy exercise, and sun exposure for 24-48 hours. Apply soothing aloe or recommended post-wax lotion, exfoliate gently after 48 hours, and avoid tight clothing to reduce irritation and ingrown hairs.
Most skin types can be safely waxed, but active sunburn, open wounds, or certain skin conditions may preclude treatment. Please disclose medications and sensitivities during booking. Our therapists perform a patch test if you have concerns.
For best results hair should be about 1/4 inch (6mm) long so the wax can grip hair properly. If hair is too short we may ask you to let it grow; if too long we trim slightly before waxing.
Waxing can sometimes cause ingrown hairs, especially if hair is curly. Proper exfoliation, moisturizing, and professional technique reduce risk. We recommend regular gentle scrubs, salicylic-acid products if needed, and follow-up appointments to minimize irritation and scarring.
