How the touch-up works
A Root Touch-Up focuses only on the new growth at the scalp: your stylist applies color to the regrowth area and matches it to your existing shade so the visible line between old and new disappears. This service preserves the color on the mid-lengths and ends, avoiding a full re-color while keeping your look consistent and refreshed.
The final result depends on how your current color has faded, the density of new growth, and the original formula used. Because we work only at the roots, we blend and feather the color where the old and new meet; if the mid-length color has significantly faded or changed, a full color appointment may be recommended instead of a touch-up.
When a touch-up fits
Root Touch-Ups are meant for clients who already love their overall color and need regrowth covered between larger appointments. They are an efficient option to maintain gray coverage or an all-over shade without re-saturating the full length of the hair. For many guests, the service extends the time between full color sessions and keeps a neat, consistent appearance.
A practical trade-off is that a touch-up won’t correct color fading or tone changes along the hair’s length. If you want a slightly lighter, darker, or different tone overall, a full color or gloss appointment is usually a better choice. Your stylist will advise which approach best meets your goals and timing.
