Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Double Process Color.

Appointments typically last 2–4 hours depending on hair length, thickness, and complexity. Consultation and processing times are included. Your stylist will provide an accurate time estimate during booking based on desired lift, highlight placement, and necessary treatments.

During your consultation, our stylists assess elasticity, porosity, and previous chemical history to determine readiness. If needed, we recommend repair treatments, a gradual lifting plan, or a bond-builder to protect hair and prioritize long-term health.

When performed by our trained colorists using professional formulas and bond-building treatments, damage is minimized. We customize processing, use protective additives, and include post-color conditioning. Proper at-home care and follow-up treatments remain important to maintain strength.

Most clients return every 6–8 weeks for root touch-ups and toning to maintain vibrancy. Lighter highlight blends can allow longer gaps, but consult your stylist for a personalized schedule based on growth, fading, and desired maintenance level.

Use sulfate-free, color-safe shampoo and conditioner, wash with cool water, and limit shampooing to preserve tone. Apply bond-repair treatments, heat protectant before styling, and schedule regular glosses and deep-conditioning between salon visits.

Dramatic transformations may require multiple sessions to protect hair integrity, especially on previously colored or damaged hair. During consultation, your stylist evaluates history and proposes a safe, phased approach or a single-session plan when appropriate.
